Building a stronger workforce requires schools, colleges, businesses, and community leaders to understand how their individual efforts contribute to a shared regional strategy.

When the Tyler Area Business Education Council (TABEC) was selected to serve as the Regional Convener, the organization responsible for bringing local schools, colleges, employers, and community leaders together to prepare students for good jobs across the 14-county East Texas Workforce Development Area, its leadership expanded from the Tyler area to a much broader regional role.

TABEC engaged CWJ Strategies to develop a marketing and communications strategy for the initiative. Working with TABEC leadership, CWJ helped translate a complex education-to-workforce strategy into clear messaging and communicate its purpose to education, business, workforce, and community stakeholders across East Texas.

CWJ’s work supported TABEC’s efforts to build awareness and engagement around regional workforce priorities, education and career pathways, and work-based learning opportunities while creating greater visibility for the work happening across the region.

Because of its successful outcomes, TABEC has now received two Regional Convener awards totaling more than $700,000. As TABEC continues leading implementation and bringing regional partners together, CWJ provides ongoing strategic communications support to help clearly communicate the initiative’s goals, progress, and impact across the 14-county region.
